The ever-growing cosmos of social networking offers brands and products great opportunities for interaction with customers and potential users. More than 20 million German users and around 700 million global users can be found on Facebook alone. This means that with the right concepts and ideas there is huge potential to tap into.

SocialObjects GmbH is an all-round service provider in the development of social apps. Starting with a well thought-out concept, we guide our clients through the implementation and development of an intuitive user interface and the process of linking up to existing applications and services on the web through to provision on the platform. Our social media monitoring product BuzzRank also enables us to support you after the launch with regular reports for monitoring success — and, where necessary, to optimise the app.

The Wedding Book

The Wedding Book emerged alongside the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the biggest media event of 2011. Almost 100,000 users shared their congratulations with the royal couple via Facebook. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, RTL provided daily reports on new posts, allowing celebrities to express their congratulations in front of the camera. In the UK, the Daily Mirror was acquired as a media partner. The book was recently printed and passed on to Buckingham Palace.

Telekom Deutschland GmbH

Telekom Deutschland GmbH uses Telekom-hilft to offer its customers support via Twitter and Facebook. With guidance from and in close collaboration with zweiteHeimat, SocialObjects implemented a tabbed app on Facebook for the market launch of the Windows Phone 7. The aim was to bundle together the posts from the Telekom test pilots in one place and to display them separately by channel – Twitter, Facebook and blogs.

Monthly reports based on the social media monitoring product BuzzRank, regularly update the Telekom Deutschland Internet Sales & Service Team on its customers’ activities in the social media, the mood, topical issues and many other KPIs.

Telegate 11880

“Wie merkst Du Dir die 11880?” (How do you memorise 11880?) is the well-known marketing slogan for German directory 11880. We implemented a Facebook app that brought this campaign into the social media. Users were able to write their own rhymes or generate random combinations (from a set pool) through the one-armed bandits. To take part in the competition, users were invited to post their creations on their walls and ask friends to help rate them.

RUF Next
We developed a Facebook app for the winner of the German tourism award, RUF Jugendreisen, which, via a small CMS, can be filled with current news, offers and travel destinations for the older target group – high school graduates. This closes the gap between Facebook pages and (transaction-driven) websites.

Fußball-Challenge
Around the 2010 World Cup, we implemented our own production called the Fußball-Challenge (football challenge) as a betting pool with strong social components. Users were able to bet on the matches due to be played in the next three days and post their results on the wall. This led (as expected) to lengthy discussions and, in turn, to a constant stream of new users on the app. Special tips could also be unlocked but only after successfully managing to invite a certain number of friends. Through this extremely viral theme and consistently implemented social gaming approaches, we managed to turn an initial marketing budget of EUR 300 into a five-figure number of active players in three days.

Mov.io
If you’re of the assumption that video content created on mobile end devices does not necessarily achieve a maximum level of quality and creativity, there are two scenarios in which they still achieve a high level of relevance: either if it has been recorded by friends of the user or if it was created nearby. Mov.io follows both approaches and, as a video platform closely tied to Facebook and Twitter, provides direct access to this content. Apps for the iPhone and for Android facilitate quick uploading and also support direct recordings in portrait format.

In addition to these examples, there are also some other exciting apps in development at the moment, which we would be happy to let you take a look at in an individual meeting. We look forward to it!
